The Old Glenmark Vicarage is a historic landmark in the Waipara Wine Valley, built in 1906 as a turn-of-the-century vicarage. It hosts weddings, celebrations, corporate and private occasions on the lawns, in the orchard or in the vineyard.
Couples choose between two reception areas, a marquee on the main lawn or a smaller marquee that encloses the Barn veranda. The Vicarage Barn can also be hired for parties or corporate offsites, and a large open plan kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven in the garden suits cooking lessons.
Accommodation is offered in the century-old Vicarage Homestay and in the Barn, and pets are welcome. The Barn has one toilet and there is one outdoor wheelchair toilet, so larger weddings need extra port-a-loos.
The venue is 45 minutes from Christchurch and its airport and one hour from Hanmer Springs. Rated 5 from 24 Google reviews, 23 of them five stars.
No information yet on ceremony on site, bYO alcohol, own caterer allowed, wet-weather option, exclusive use, waterfront, city venue. The website did not say; call and ask.
