These 6 venues say on their own website that couples may bring their own alcohol. Some also let you choose your own caterer.
BYO terms differ. Ask each venue about corkage, bar staff, glassware and what happens to leftover drinks.
Christchurch City Council says that, in general, BYO is permitted at private functions such as weddings (checked 19/10/2026). Selling alcohol is different and usually needs a special licence, so confirm your plans with the venue and the council for the district where the venue sits.

Christchurch City Council says a special licence generally is not required for a private BYO function such as a wedding, and that a special licence does not authorise BYO. For venues in Selwyn, Waimakariri or Hurunui, check with that council.
Some of these venues allow it. Check the Own caterer allowed line on each venue page, then confirm with the venue.
